Professor Piorkowsky holds degrees in Business Administration and Economics from the Free University of Berlin as well as a PhD. in Economics from the same university. He is currently Professor of Household and Consumption Economics at the University of Bonn and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board on Consumer and Food Policies of the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. He is also Member of the board of directors of the German Foundation Against Private Over indebtedness (Deutschland im Plus).
