Mark Regnerus is Professor of Sociology at the University of Texas at Austin and President of the Austin Institute for the Study of Family and Culture. His research is in the areas of marriage, family, sexual and relationship decision-making, and religion. Mark is the author of nearly 60 published articles and book chapters, and four books. The last two of these are The Future of Christian Marriage (Oxford, 2020), a seven-country study of the waning marital impulse, and Cheap Sex and the Transformation of Men, Marriage, and Monogamy (Oxford, 2017) in which he describes the world that has come to be due to the influence of technology on sex and sexuality. He’s an occasional contributor to First Things and a contributing editor at Public Discourse. He was also the author of a 2012 study on the suboptimal outcomes of young adults with a mother or father in a same-sex relationship. His PhD is from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He and his wife have three children, one daughter-in-law, and one son-in-law.
