Dr. Ioana Ocnarescu (PhD in Design Science) is director of research at Strate School of Design, where she leads Strate Research, a multidisciplinary team of design and human sciences researchers. Her work focuses on fostering diverse perspectives through experience design, speculative design, and low-tech prototyping, particularly in relation to emerging technologies and decision-making in the design process. At Strate, she coordinates the Robotics by Design Lab, teaches courses on Experience Design, Speculative Design, and Design & Robotics, and co-supervises several PhD projects. Her approach bridges research and pedagogy, cultivating critical inquiry and experimentation at the intersection of design, technology, and society.
